Matrilumina is a gathering of Beacons and Luminaries - those who shine our lights brightly and bravely as we walk through the world. It is a restorative women’s retreat which offers connectivity, creation, deep healing, fearlessness, and FUN; a circle for healers and teachers to replenish our stores, for builders and dreamers to collaborate, and for the body and senses to rejoice in the beauty and resources of Big Sur and Esalen Institute.
We offer tools, support, stories, experiences, ignition - and time to rest - that lift and energize our community of Beacons and Luminaries to clear the channels for the work we’re already doing in the world and for our world – including (perhaps most especially) in our personal lives.

*Esalen is located on the Big Sur coastline of northern California at the edge of the Ventana Wilderness. A landscape of stunning natural beauty, this particular stretch of Highway 1 is one of the most scenic drives in the world. The retreat center is about one hour south of the Carmel/Monterey area, three hours south of San Francisco and five hours north of Los Angeles.
